ATHLETIC FIELDS

This turf program is intended for informational use only. For the best possible results tailored to meet your needs and soil type, check with your AgPro™ representative for specific recommendations.

New Athletic Field from Sod / Pre-Plant

2 quarts per acre RECLAIM

(4.5 - 5 L/Ha)

GOAL:

To combat chemical carry-over and promote general detoxification.

REASON:

RECLAIM helps clean up the soil to allow uninhibited root establishment. Adding necessary N-P-K helps build up mineral levels in the root zone and make them available to the plant immediately.

Sodding

6 oz. per 1,000 square feet TURF BLEND when laying sod (175 mL / 100 sq. m). Apply with water immediately after sod is laid down and before irrigation can be turned on (do it in blocks of 1-2000 sq. ft. by hand and then keep the tractors and equipment off of the area).

*For fields with existing compaction problems, apply AFC (ATHLETIC FIELD CONDITIONER) 1 gallon per acre (9 - 9.5 L/Ha)

GOAL:

Stimulate sod to push rooting development with chelated liquid materials.

Allows air and water to move through the soil.

REASON:

Sod will be stressed and needs immediate attention. TURF BLEND contains micronutrients and an enzyme blend that stimulates the microbial activity in the soil which helps rooting. TURF BLEND also contains moisture control materials and will hold moisture in the new sod thus lessening stress.

AFC promotes air and water management, keeping the soil open.

New Athletic Field from Seed / Pre-Plant

2 quarts per acre RECLAIM

(4.5 - 5 L/Ha)

*For fields with existing compaction problems, apply AFC (ATHLETIC FIELD CONDITIONER) 1 gallon per acre (9 - 9.5 L/Ha)

GOAL:

To combat chemical carry-over and promote general detoxification.

Allows air and water to move through the soil.

REASON:

RECLAIM helps clean up the soil to allow uninhibited root establishment. Adding necessary N-P-K to the bare ground helps build up mineral levels in the root zone and make them available to the new plant immediately as it germinates.

AFC promotes air and water management, keeping the soil open.

Seeding

6 Oz. TURF BLEND per 1,000 square feet over the top of the seed (175 mL / 100 sq. m)

GOAL:

Stimulate seed to push rooting development and breakdown of the N-P-K.

REASON:

This is also a water management tool which aids in air and water exchange critical to stimulating microorganisms in preparation for planting.

Overseeding / Pre-Plant (for cold weather sports)

Prepare the field by power raking or flail raking entire area. Never aerate immediately prior to overseeding as the seeds will fall into the holes and you’ll have clumps or lines of heavy grass and it will look terrible and not kill out in the spring. Wait until after 3 or 4 mowings because it’s needed for moisture control. Spray down 2 qts of RECLAIM per acre (4.5 - 5 L/Ha).  Spread seed according to directions and then drag it in. Then spray with 4-6 oz of TURF BLEND per 1000 sq ft. to wet the seeds on the soil for quicker germination.

(125 - 175 mL / 100 sq. m)

GOAL:

Remove thatch buildup.

REASON:

Thatch seals off the access to surface of the soil for seeds and thus doesn’t allow good germination.

After First Mowing

4-6 oz. TURF BLEND per 1000 sq. ft (125 - 175 mL / 100 sq. m).  Apply N-P-K as needed. Do not add N-P-K until this time as it will keep other grasses out of dormancy which is exactly what you don’t want

GOAL:

Promote better rooting of grass.

REASON:

TURF BLEND contains an enzyme blend that promotes rooting by stimulating the plant microbial action. It also softens the soil so that roots can spread rapidly. Adding an N-P-K fertilizer after 1st mowing assures that the minerals won’t be going to feed the in-season grass, thus blocking the overseed growth.

Maintenance Program

4-6 oz. TURF BLEND per 1000 sq. ft. (125 - 175 mL / 100 sq. m) every three to four weeks.  Light N-P-K applications as needed

GOAL:

Maintain root growth and plant luster.

REASON:

Maintain plant health and manage moisture.

Herbicide Spray Program

Apply 16 fl. oz. phLAME per 100 gallon tank mix with contact herbicides (0.5 L per 375 L).

Fungicide Spray Program

Apply 16 to 32 fl. oz. SS 9 per 100 gallon tank mix with fungicides (0.5 - 1 L per 375 L).

Insecticide Spray Program

Apply 5 to 10 oz SPREADER STICKER per 100 gallon tank mix with insecticides (150 - 300 mL per 375 L).

NOTE ABOUT SPRAYING

We strongly recommend using an adjuvant with your spray program. AgPro™ specialty surfactants (SS 9, SPREADER STICKER, phLAME) have proven cost effective with spray applications of chemicals (fungicides, herbicides, pesticides) to allow lowest label rates with better results. The synergy can add potency and extend the chemical life and have allowed some growers to experiment and get exceptional results with well under label rates.

Please ask your AgPro™ representative for the appropriate product for your needs and grower’s experiences in your area.
